The Viewshed Analysis Action Team, which includes staff from the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, the National Park Service, and several regional land trusts, selected the Chesapeake Conservancy’s Conservation Innovation Center to conduct GIS-based spatial analysis services to help analyze and prioritize approximately 250 Parkway viewpoints. This work is now well underway, and it will include creation of a dynamic webtool to help land conservation agencies determine how best to prioritize voluntary land and water conservation efforts to help protect the Parkway’s best scenic views.
